Harness and Cable
- Interconnect Listings (Wire-run Lists)
Provides the source, destination and name for each wire for interconnection
of components and assemblies
Used as a source of information for generating the Wiring Diagrams
- Wiring Diagrams
Organizes the interconnection information into drawings illustrating the
wiring for assemblies
Defines the wire source, destination, color, AWG and special wire information
for preparation of the interconnections for harness assembly
- Connector Families Listing
Lists each connector and mating connector used for building the harness
assemblies
- Harness Diagrams
Provides a full-scale drawing of each harness with the bill of material
to be used in the harness manufacture
The bill of material defines the connectors, wire material, terminals (pins
and sockets), hardware such as ty-raps, etc and any other material needed
to manufacture the harness assembly
- Prototype Harnesses
A small quantity of harness assemblies required to test the design and manufacture
of the harnesses and to test the installation of the harnesses into the
product or equipment
The information gained from the prototype harnesses allow generation of
pre-production harness documentation
- Harness Installation and Checkout
Harnesses are installed into the product or equipment with mounting hardware
such as tie-mounts, clamps, etc
The harnesses are routed within the unit and interconnected to the components
and assemblies within the product or equipment
Interconnect testing is performed to assure 100 percent accuracy in the
interconnects and reliable connections.
